Pierre-Jean Chalençon, one of the world’s leading collectors of the Napoleonic era, will graciously offer us an exclusive and exceptional visit to his extraordinary home in the Palais Vivienne. We will discover this magnificent palace, which was built in 1706, and see a few of the most beautiful treasures of this world-famous collection of Napoleonic artifacts.
Passionate about history and particularly the Empire period, Pierre-Jean Chalençon makes his collection and his knowledge available so that the general public around the world can have access to the rich heritage of the history of France. Over the past 15 years his collection has been exhibited in some of the greatest museums of the world, such as Versailles, the National Constitution Museum in Philadelphia, the Pantheon, an extensive tour in the USA in 2014 seen by over one million visitors, and currently in China with over 2 million visitors.
Anyone who already had the privilege to visit his prior home on rue de Rivoli will be amazed by the splendor and breathtaking volumes of this new residence, of which he took possession only in February 2016. We invite you to be among the select few to visit this magnificent abode. Space is limited to the first 50 to register.
Our evening will coincide with the 28th Biennale des Antiquaires (September 10-18) and we will also have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bernard Chevallier, curator of the Museum of Malmaison, Vice President of the Napoleon Foundation, and author of several books.
A Champagne Cocktail will be served following the visit.
