Members-Only Visit to J. Kugel Gallery and Champagne at Mucha Café

An exclusive Members-Only visit to the world renowned J. Kugel Gallery. Nicolas and Alexis Kugel are the fifth generation of a family of antiques dealers founded in Russia at the end of the 18th century by their great-great-grandfather Elie Kugel. Galerie J. Kugel is located in the beautiful neo-classical Hôtel Collot, built in 1840 by the distinguished architect Louis Visconti (1791-1853) for Jean-Pierre Collot, director of La Monnaie (the French Mint). Galerie J. Kugel is unique in the extensiveness of its specialities and the eclecticism of the works of art it offers, which range in date from medieval and Renaissance up to the 1850s. We discovered this magnificent house, as well as the current Exhibition: A Mechanical Bestiary -Automaton Clocks of the Renaissance.

After the visit, we took a short walk to the cozy Mucha Café, where we had a private salon and plenty of Champagne which enabled us all to review the wonderful things we saw and get to know each other better. A good time was had by all.
